INDIVIDUAL PIXEL SAMPLING
The E-ULTRA-4000E camera utilises a hi-tech method of image exposure. With normal CCD cameras, pixels are sampled simultaneously. The net results being certain parts of the image are too bright or too dark. With the technology used in the E-ULTRA-4000E, each pixel is sampled individually. An A/D converter is incorporated within each pixel. The A/D converter translates the light signal into a digital image at the immediate point of capture. In other words, each pixel is in reality an individual camera. Good quality images are thus provided in situations of great contrasts in light, i.e. bright and dark light in one picture.
APPLICATIONS
Typical applications for this camera include covering entry points/ exits leading to direct sunlight and any situation where bright or dark light is affecting your camera’s image. In a doorway situation when a normal camera is used, the background of the image (i.e. the outside) is bright and the person walking through the door is very dark.
It is also useful in situations where bright light is reflecting off objects causing blooming of the image. The exposure mode can be set as automatic or configured to a custom setting to suit the exact environment.
TRUE COLOUR FIDELITY
The individual pixel sampling also means colour reproduction is extremely accurate, with each pixel deciding the correct white balance setting. This is extremely helpful in situations where different light sources are present in one picture. Normal cameras may be confused as to what white balance setting to use to cover all the light sources present. Differing lighting conditions occur in supermarkets and/or in retail stores.
DAY/NIGHT
Each E-ULTRA-4000E has an integrated mechanical IR-Cut Filter. This allows the camera to switch to B/W and provide improved Night-Time Performance. The day/switch over happens at 5 lux. In this mode, the camera is IR sensitive and suitable for outdoor surveillance. The IR-Link function can be used to activate an IR illuminator adjacent to the camera. If the customer prefers, one can fix the camera in it's color mode with a variety of AGC and slow shutter modes.
OTHER FEATURES
Other standard camera features include automatic gain control, auto-tracing white balance and support for DC or Video drive Auto Iris CS Lenses. It can also support Manual Iris CS lenses with an Electronic Shutter Mode. The automatic tracing white balance function ensures the camera is configured correctly to the light source used. Housed in a compact aluminium epoxy-coated casing, the E-ULTRA-4000E operates off 12 VDC or 24VAC and has a screw terminal for power connection.
NTSC/PAL SUPPORT
An interesting feature of the E-ULTRA-4100 is the selectable video output. The user can select a PAL or NTSC video output via the On-Screen-Display Menu.
