The E-PSR-1440 is a hi-resolution surveillance radar designed for wide area site coverage. It is able to scan a full 360degrees and cover upto six square kilometers.
Suitable for ground surveillance of large open areas, it is a hi-tech solution to many perimeter security problems. The main advantage over other forms of perimeter detection is that it can pre-alert the user to an intrusion and continues to track the intruder, once he has gained access to the site. This allows the operator to pin-point the intruder and alert the response team to his exact location.

FMCW
Utilising the latest Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW), the E-PSR-1440 is able to achieve better performance than legacy pulse doppler-type radar systems. The technology helps to decrease the amount of false alarms and detect valid intruders.
OPERATION
The E-PSR-1440 radar is installed within line of site of the required area or perimeter it needs to secure. It sweeps a full 360 degrees with it's radar signal and analyses the return signals to determine if there is any movement in the area. If an intruder is detected the radar tracks the location and path of travel of the target. This includes vehicles, boats, individuals walking, running or crawling and even swimmers. It is also resilient to false alarms from objects in the area such as leaves, plastic bags and small animals.
COMMUNICATION AND SOFTWARE
Able to operate in a stand-alone configuration or networked with upto 20 radars, the E-PSR-1440 can be hardwired or is available with a wireless communication interface. Once operational, all notifcations and alerts are displayed in a graphical format through the unit's special control software. This software is Windows PC compatible and allows the insertion of overview maps of the site. Users are able to mask off areas where detection is not required such as public roads, housing estates and of obviously non-restricted areas. These masks can be schedule for certain times and/or days.
OPERATING ENVIRONMENT
Unlike standard surveillance cameras, the E-PSR-1440 radar is able to operate in virtually any climate, weather or lighting condition.
PTZ CAMERA TRACKING
Using a PTZ camera to survey a large perimeter is very much like 'looking for a needle in a haystack'. You have a massive area to survey and are unsure where the intruder is going to enter. The radar is a great help in such situation, as it is able to pinpoint the point of intrusion and moves the camera to the position accordingly. Signals are then relayed to the PTZ camera to move and track the intruder. A variety of long range PTZ cameras with day/night function, thermal and/or IR laser features are supported. This dual technology approach is a an effective perimeter security solution. The radar detects and tracks the intruder and the camera provides visual verification.
APPLICATIONS
Site applications for these radars include airports, power plants, army bases, government borders, sea ports, housing estates and temporary sites such as building sites and army encampments. They are suitable for any areas with large open perimeters that are within line of site of the radar.
