INTRODUCTION
The EagleDVR-II-4 is an advanced four channel Video Recording Card which comes complete with our ever popular EagleDVR recording/monitoring surveillance software. This PCI-Express card features 4 onboard video converters giving a total of 100fps across the 4 channels.
PC INTO VIDEO RECORDING SERVER
For users not familiar with the EagleDVR product, it turns a Pentium-4 Windows-XP PC into an advanced digital video recording and monitoring system. The user installs the card into a PC with a PCI-Express Card Slot. The EagleDVR server software is then installed with the card and up to four cameras can be connected to the PC. The PC then becomes the 'Recording Server' from which the user can do recording, live monitoring or playback. Recording continues during playback, backup or remote networking.
VIDEO RECORDING
The 4 video inputs are recorded simultaneously at 25fps per input. Up to two of these four channel cards can be inserted into a compatible PC. This provides the user with an eight channel real-time recording system. Recording is activated by intelligent software motion detection. The frame-rate can also be adjusted down if the high fps is not required. At this frame rate, the EagleDVR-II-4 records at an excellent 720x288, this is equivalent to 320TVL horizontal recording resolution. Brightness, contrast and color can be adjusted per camera input. Other features include camera titles, as well as one channel audio recording.
PLAYBACK
Video can be played back through the server software or via the client software across a TCP/IP network. The user searches via date and then time through a motion bargraph. Video channels are played back full screen or in simultaneously in multi-screen format. A special feature is the 'motion search'. With this, the user can select a block of the scene and search the video for 'change' in that block. Once the user locates the video, it can be saved as a single frame or stored in the 'EagleDVR' format or converted to a standard AVI video.
OTHER FEATURES
PTZ control is possible through the server software and an RS485 serial port. The software communicates through the RS485 serial port to transmit PTZ control signals. The user can then use the mouse to pan and tilt and the wheel-mouse function to zoom in/out. Another advanced function of the Eagle-DVR software is the user-level access control. Passwords restrict viewing of specified cameras to designated operators, as well as restricting playback and/or configuration.
REMOTE MONITORING
Remote monitoring using the EagleDVR is extremely easy. Included with each card is a client program that is installed on a remote PC on the same TCP/IP network. This client allows the user almost full control of the system as if he was sitting at the server location. The client can be used to monitor the camera system at the same quality and speed as if at the actual camera server. Video can also be played back remotely from the server at full quality and resolution.
Many users currently utilise the EagleDVR for remote monitoring across ADSL. One can configure the quality and fps of the remote stream to cater for the lower bandwidth and of course Dynamic DNS is fully supported.
